Dalila Benhaberou-Brun completed her nursing studies in France in 1988, and was awarded the Diplôme d'État Infirmier. She is the author of a manuscript on the role of the nurse in the social reintegration of the handicapped.

In 1993, Dalila Benhaberou-Brun received her B.Sc. from the University of Montreal. She was awarded the Dean's Prize from the Faculté d'Éducation Permanente for excellence in scholarship.

Dalila Benhaberou-Brun obtained her Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences in 1999 from the University of Montreal. She conducted a research project under the supervision of Docteur Marie Dumont, Director of the Laboratoire de chronobiologie at the Clinique du Sommeil of Sacré-Coeur Hospital. The project was titled "Assessment of the melatonin circadian rhythm among night nurses suffering from sleep disorders".

Ms. Benhaberou-Brun's research was supported by the Institut de Recherche en Santé et Sécurité du Travail, and her manuscript was highlighted on the list of honour of both the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal.
